Ameraucana or EE? Pullet or Cockerels?

When i said that you can look on the ameraucana website, i didnt mean to see if leg color was right, i was talking about the feather color of your chicks. EEs either have yellow or green legs which in your case you have both and ameraucanas are supposed to have slate colored legs.

Ahhh. I see. Thanks! I did check out their picture page of all the different colored chicks. They don't all have slate colored legs as chicks.

Buff large fowl chick: http://www.ameraucana.org/scrapbook_files/bufflf.jpg

So, posting that did help, honestly. I definitely think mine are EEs but one of the chicks has several traits, which is neat. Thanks! : )

They don't all have slate legs as chicks but they also don't have green legs

And RockerHen is right, but the EE's with slate legs usually come from breeders and not hatcheries... of course, we have no idea where these chicks came from, since auctions don't really give much background info.

Hey! I follow you on FB! LOL! Anywho... So, which chicks legs will turn green? Number 2 has quite yellow/orange legs. This whole starting out red and turning purple color thing throws me for a loop. LOL! It was much easier with polish chicks. They stay the color they came out!

WHAT IS THAT GORGEOUS RED HEN?!?!?!

Yes, they are TRICKY!
There are EE's with slate legs too, to muddle things further

Tricky little EEs, they try to confuse everyone

I have 2 that have slate legs, but are very obviously EE. Here's one, she's the one on the right, obviously.

2 through 5 could turn green; the ones with shading are more likely. 1 has such yellow legs that I doubt they will change colors.

I can't believe you follow me/our farm on Facebook!

Easter Eggers are my favorite "breed" because they're so wacky

Chicks 2 through 5 are Easter Eggers and not Ameraucanas. Photos of Ameraucanas are here--they even have photos of chicks, and you can see that none really look like yours. EE's tend to share some traits with Silver Ameraucanas, but the leg color of yours is off.

The first chick could be an odd EE, since it looks like it may have beard and muffs. Does it have a pea comb or a rose comb?

Time will tell on genders.
Pea.
