Ameraucana or EE? Sorry - duplicate from egglaying

EE, and a very pretty one too.

I think it depends on the bird. I know lots of peoples' EEs have started laying really late, while mine started at 19 weeks and 2 days. Yours should start soon though.

Yep a pretty EE pullet. Anywhere from 20 to 30 weeks is normal to begin laying, but weather (i.e. heat, how much sun etc) and what their being fed can all affect laying. If she is 4-6 behind that's not a big deal. Sometimes more protein gets them laying. We've had one EE at 19 weeks start this year and another that took 24 weeks. Patience is key with chickens.

They are fed Purina layer mix, but they free range all day (7 a.m. - 8 p.m.), so they mostly eat bugs and berries. They all look healthy and happy.

I just love my chickens - every time I go outside, they come running.

It must really depend on the bird. My EE was the first to lay (ahead of my black sex link, SLW, BO) She started this week at 21 weeks.

Hope yours starts laying soon. She's a pretty bird.
