When we bought her at the farm supply store she was just days old in the brooder and labeled Ameraucana. But she really looks a lot like my EE’s that are a couple months younger.

She’s an Easter Egger. Any Ameraucana or variant of that spelling that is offered at a feed store is an Easter Egger.
I really want an Ameraucana and they have more at the store. How do I know if they are incorrectly “labelled”? What do I look for to make sure I’m getting an Ameraucana and not an EE?

You won’t get a true Ameraucana from a feed store. Day old Ameraucana chicks range from $10-$20 each. Your Easter Eggers will most likely lay blue or green eggs.

Most feed stores wouldn't carry a true Ameraucana and the most obvious tip offs are price as well as not having a color listed (i.e. when you see a Buff Orpington, buff is the color). I've seen them before at a feed store, but very limited quantity. A reputable breeder is probably your best bet.

An Ameraucana might run $17-20 per chick compared to an Easter Egger at $5 per, though sometimes you'll see more expensive EEs such as Olive Eggers which can be more costly, which adds a layer of complication to the whole thing.
