Hmm... I'm not the best at this breed. My inclination is usually wrong.
However, @TheOddOneOut and @OneHappyRooster and so many more know this breed exceptionally well.

That's a cockerel, IMO!
Too much comb development for 5 weeks.

He's is 100%, without a doubt, a cockerel. Pointed saddle feathers do not lie

It looks like a hen to me, but then the one in the background sure is a lil Rooster, I have Americanas also & one that I thought would be a rooster was not, here are my chicks when they were about the same age.
