Ameraucana roo or pullet? 15 weeks

I say cockerel. Sorry. That comb is way to big and red for a pullet at 15wks :hmm

Also, the comb has 3 very distinct rows of “peas”. Not ALWAYS a sure way to tell pullet vs cockerel but with the redness of too... you have yourself a cute little boy!

Ameraucanas are frustratingly slow to mature.
I was looking over your pictures again and if you look really close you can see some very pointy saddle feathers. Can you not have a rooster where you live? He is looking like he’s going to be a nice boy.

I'm gonna say cockerel too. EE's and Ameraucana's are notorious for fooling people, they feather out so differently than many other breeds. I have a hen that I was SURE was a cockerel, so I would wait until you are quite sure. Either way, it's a really pretty bird, I'd hate to rehome to early. Sometimes you have to compare them to their hatchmates, but the comb also looks large and red for the age if it was a pullet, mine have always been slow to mature and the pullets don't usually redden up til closer to 20 weeks, or even more.

Thank you for checking out and helping analyze the pictures! I live in Boise city limit (Idaho), so rooster is not allowed. I wish I could keep him. I got him from a breeder at 8 weeks. At the time (in early June), the breeder said the comb is pale and smaller than the roo's of the same age. So, that's why he was picked as a possible pullet for me. Well, now I am going to have to find a more masculine name for "Opal" :/
