Ameraucana Rooster?

He'll be similar in looks to the one in my profile pic as he ages with some amount of hackle/saddle color variation
Great! What a handsome roo! I'm excited. I've always been nervous about adding a rooster to the homestead but I know he'll be good for the girls. Now he's got his own harem ahahah

Do you have a picture of its back end? Any idea of age?

I wasn’t really seeing pointed hackle feathers in your earlier pic and couldn’t make out the comb well enough to tell whether it was a cockerel, especially if it could be an adult. However, I think I’m seeing pointed saddle feathers in the rear and the comb would be overly pink for a 2 mo old pullet... Someone else posted this link earlier in a post about another Ameraucana, and I found it quite helpful!

Great website. How do you tell if a chicken/rooster is a bantam?

Size. If you have something to compare your new chicken too of a simulate age, then you can tell by comparison... At 2 mo, your Ameraucana cockerel should have enough size that I think you’d be able to see if it’s a “mini”... Our 1 year old Ameraucana roo seems huge to me, and our 2.5 mo large fowl pullets and cockerels have a frame near to full size, but are still gangly and filling out...

At 2 months he's much smaller than my 3 month old pullets. Guess I'll have to wait and see. Either way he's a gem
