Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I finally got a Lavender chick! I don't think this one will turn white

Welp, here's my BW/W Ameraucanas I hatched last weekend.
The smallest and lightest one is from WhiteMountainsRanch.
The other three are from my own Ameraucana flock.

I was told you couldn't really feather sex these guys... If you can, and it's accurate,
I think I have all pullets. We will see, I guess.

I love fuzzy cheeks! They are very cute I love the lightest one!

Hi All,

I have six beautiful blue chicks from Pips & Peeps, they are my first Ameraucanas and I'm really excited. I thought of posting photos in the "What Breed or Gender" thread but I think this may be a better place to ask for guesses on how many cockerels and pullets I have. May I post here for opinions?

Thanks much!

We love pictures! How old are they? It takes a good while to figure out the roos. I had one that was 4 mths before I figured it out LOL

I forgot to ask Jean how old they are, but four are older and two younger. I picked them up from her at the Washington Feather Fanciers show on St. Paddy's so they're at least two weeks plus. She identified one of the bigger chicks as a boy when I was loading them but I don't remember which one he was. I know nothing's for sure until I either get crowing or eggs, but it's fun to guess.

I am able to take close up pictures of any combs/body areas if anyone wants a better look at something. Here they are:

Chick #1, hoping a female

Chick #2 is another very dark bird, but seems to have more "rows" on the comb, think maybe a boy?

Chick #3 is nicknamed the ostrich because of very sparse feathering on the neck and elsewhere. I suspect he's a he but would be glad to be wrong.

Chick #4 is a lighter silver blue, and seems more feminine, hoping she's a pullet

Chicks #5 and 6 are the smaller babies, not sure if they're old enough to tell, but here they are.
