I have at least one Black Ameraucana about 2 1/2 months old.
I am not breeding Ameraucana's so I need to rehome the roosters

Some opinions please

These two 5 month old roosters are from the same hatch out of the same rooster, but are very different in type from one another. Which rooster is the one to keep?

I like #2 better and I will tell you why. First his wing looks better than the first one (the triangle at the end) He has black in his beard and less white fluff at the tail break. He just over all looks better to me visually too.

Yes, # 2s red wing bar does look better and his beard is darker (that can change) but not as full as # 1. I worry that his tail set is too high and his chest not full enough. I think he might be the better of the two but I am blinded by the lighter color blue on # 1 which I prefer

Neither of us are experts but, my guy likes #1..he likes his color and beard better. I prefer #2...I like everything about him. His colors seem more distinct to me.

1 icelandic roo
2 ameraucana roo's
3 cream legbar x welsummer/penedesenca roos (that I know of)

keeping 2 icelandic roos
1 crele penedesenca roos

Eat them. I have found the Ameraucanas to taste a bit gamey, compared to my others.
