Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

If they don't have grey legs or beard/muffs, they're Easter Eggers. The chances that you have Araucanas are extremely slim. Also remember - If you got your chicks from a fededstore or hatchery, they're EEs.

My little Black and Blue boys/girls decided today that they no longer want to be in a brooder. . . 5 of them flew out, and started running around the yard.

So, I decided instead of waiting for my next ones to hatch, I'll just set up a little run for them now. They're enjoying it sooo much, I just can't wait until they're old enough and big enough to be introduced to my current flock.

Those are adorable Kathy! Who did you get your Lavenders from? I'm trying to decide if I want Lav Orps, or Lav Ameraucanas. I like them both!

I think one of mine is, and they came from two very reputable ABC members farms.

Did you hatch them?

My Blue Wheaten is five weeks old now and just has the barest hint of muffs/beard coming in.

That's how my 2 girls were! I've been waiting- but just a few whiskers at almost 4 months. Their sis has a nice beard- BUT I've caught her with feathers in her mouth! Wonder if she's plucking the other girls. Hmmmmm.

He is still such a lovely blue though!
