Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Guess that solve it then lol. I'm getting some pullets from Paul smith tomorrow and I have a pretty nice blue roo (besides his tail angle needs some correction). He had a nice blue wheaten and wheaten pullet as well as two blacks...blacks it is!

I got my ABC bulletin today. Was kinda bummed, as I have been waiting for the SE director to step down so I could volunteer. Guess I should pay better attention to the breeders' club site. Live and learn!

a better pic of her wing spread and her tail please,,,,might just be me but I don't see the "blue"
She's a little skittish so I could only grab her in the coop at night, hope the pics aren't too terrible...but here's her tail:

You can just barely see a hint of blue on one or two feathers at the bottom. And her wingspan (Sorry, I took this pic upside down with my phone and didn't realize it

) But you are right, she has very little blue. Is that a fault? I didn't see any blue on the hen from the Ameraucana club...

This one's a little closer up.

My older hen also has about that much blue on her (very little), I was told that in a blue the blue replaces the black markings,,,in a splash, white replaces the black markings.

that said I have a hard time when looking at the pic of the Blue on the website, maybe time to load some new pictures there,,

I now have 8 more young pullets,,,the blue and the black are very pronounced on these birds

still confused about these with only a touch of blue,,,,maybe just poor examples of blue feathering is my best guess

hopefully someone with more experience with chime in

Just thought I would show a picture of one of my silver hens. She was not very happy with me she was used to free rangeing, and I put her in a training coop, and wanted out.

Her beard is a little picked out here.

Oh man a way out!!!

Oh, shoot, guess I better not try it!!

Last photo a little closer to show her feathers a little better. Same hen as the other pictures.
I do need to find a new silver cock, cause I have lost the one I had.
