How can you tell an egg is fertile?

The egg below has a small creamy spot on the yoke, just left of center. I hope it shows in the picture. Is this what a fertile egg looks like?

Thanks. I made poached eggs today and this was something I had never seen before.

Another question on eggs: Every once in awhile, when I poach one of my eggs, the yoke is not really attached to the white. I've never tried to find out which pullet gives me this egg. The pullets are over 8 months old and the egg is not old. Is this likely a permanent problem or something that is happening because she is young? Thanks.

I would guess just because she is young, but I have never had that problem. Maybe someone else can chime in

I find that this just happens once in a while, especially to younger and older hens. I wouldn't be too concerned. Not sure if it becomes a problem when it's the only kind of egg they lay, though.
