Suggestions for show quality or close to it White Ameraucanas in Texas? Preferrably close to Austin...?
Hi!, My name is Sandra, I am a new member looking for Ameraucana chicks or pullets to buy. I specially looking for the Blue Wheaten, Wheaten, White, Splash, and Lavender breeds. I only need 7 or so females if possible, no roosters as I can´t have roosters. I live in Cottonwood, Arizona, and I am willing to pick up if in the area. We love our chickens, we are vegetarians, and so far I am not having a lot of luck in finding a breeder in the area or just a breeder that gets back to me. This is my hobby, I used to have chicken here in the US before we moved to Spain. In Spain I was not able to find Ameraucanas, and now that we are back, we are very excited to get our chicken world in our lives again. Can anyone in this forum help in any way, maybe I can buy from somebody or even just pointing me in the right direction. Thank you so much for any help.
lice or mites? change in housing? moving of chickens? extreme heat. this can all make them stop layingI really dont believe they are egg eaters as I as well have delt with egg eaters before. But ok
I remember at my last house the deer would go in my garage by my door and eat all the chicken feed they wantedI'm having a serious deer problem. I never in my life thought I could wish ill on something as cute as a deer, but they are tearing things down to get at my feed. They are dangerous, too. My neighbor, bless their hearts, have a deer feeder set up about 100 feet from my chicken pens. There is a severe deer overpopulation, so they are all drawn to my neighbor's feeder and hang out in my yard. One doe and her sidekick are not afraid and are quite aggressive. I want to make it impossible for her to eat my chicken feed so she isn't hanging around my house so much. I saw a design on BYC for a feed bucket where someone used plastic plumbing elbows to make a feeder where the chickens had to put their head into this elbow to get the food in the bucket. They had to reach in far enough that there wasn't any waste. It might work for the deer during the day and then I'll just hoist it up in a tree at night.
Does anyone have a link to those plans?
thought I would try here and someone might be interested. Located in Woodstock ga, will want to check your setup so that I know he is going to a good home. 20 weeks old, not aggressive but hard to catch. Bought from a guy in Thomasville ga who has a true line of blue/black ameraucana chickens(thechickinnkeeper). Really want to keep him but just can't with how close my neighbors are. Very sad. I really don't understand how my chicken is more annoying than my neighbors dog but oh well. Here is Joe, anyone need a beautiful boy![/IMG]![]()
