Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Oh, no ma'am. This is my first breeder quality flock, and I've got to get a grip on the basics before I even dream about projects

I've got to drive to Columbia and then to Edgedield. I can meet SC on I-26 and deliver him to Samouw on Hwy 25. For a small chick or pullet fee.

I think I'm a bad influence on you

Hmmm..could be. But I think you're just collateral damage. It's not you I want to smack.

No, too far for the wife and no outlet mall

going to Edgefield at the end of the month. You gonna show your black roo?

I'd really like to. I'd love to see how he compares to others, but I just don't have the time to cage train him. He will eat out of my hand, but he's not tame. With the hours I work, it's just tough to spend the time with him I would need to get him used to the confinement and being handled. I don't think plucking him off the roost and throwing him in a cage at 4AM would make for a good showing...
I may look at having a smaller pen or 2 just to raise some for show. I'd really like to have some ribbons to help get my name out there, but I really wouldn't have to win. I just want to meet some other breeders, see what they have, and what I should be working towards

I thought you were interested in silkied or chocolates.....

edit - I meant I thought someone was interested in them, not necessarily you.

That someone is me hahaha.

Though I'm starting to think that I will have to wait on that, my two "founding" birds that I had shipped to me have a runny nose that I can't seem to get to go away..... One was on Penicillian for a week and still has it, I'm trying Tylan and Denagard next. If they aren't better by the time my SiAm eggs hatch I will cull them. Such a bummer as the boy is split for chocolate and silkie and the girl is split for silkie. They are young birds so I'm extra sad, since they are so beautiful. they are just the sweetest things.....

Hello all... Back in the forum after a lengthy departure. Can anyone tell me who is selling Silver Americana eggs these days? Sorry to hijack the thread... Thanks!
