Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I've been looking for good looking Faverolles. Where did you get yours, if you don't mind me asking ?

I got them from Ideal but I wouldn't call them "good looking". Rather smutty actually. A nice Salmon Faverolles will be white or very light from the muffs down through the breast and "undergarments" and brown above. Mine have a lot of black on their throats and dark brown underneath.

You talked me into it!!!

Heck no, your friends don't beg to see the movies of the kids!

Your 'kids' are very cute.

Thank you, I love it because you can talk to friends on here about chickens and show chick picks! My other friends not so much! lol

My birds are feeling so much better! Yay!

Her cute little beard is wet from her water.

Shes so fluffy!

I know they are young (about 4.5 months), but what do you all think? I know the boy has some leakage and a wonky comb, anything else that I need to keep an eye on for these two?

They look good, but hard to get detail. If you can, take some a little closer, inside the pen.

I could not see the leakage, even when I enlarged. Two of my three had leakage, but luckily, I had one that did not.

Do any of you feed dog or cat food vs layer pellets/crumbles or flock grower?

I feed Purina Flock Raiser since I almost always have a range of ages and ducks, free choice oyster shell, and I supplement for molting/protein boost with floating catfish pellets... it's worked well for us...

Althougg, some of my ducks raid the cat food occasionally too... :gig
