Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

WOOOOO My SiAm eggs are in the mail and she threw in some BW eggs to make sure I had extras and that the eggs could be shipped fresh. Super exciting! Now I want to use my split choc boy and some blue wheatens to make choc wheaten, wouldn't that be pretty!?

They would be beautiful! That's great!
My chicks are almost here! I've been waiting a long time. Feels like it's never gonna be here but then it is! Hope you get a good hatch

I am incubating some ameraucana eggs right now! just started their first day of incubation! I will post some pics when they hatch. the egg colours are blue, green and pink!

They will be pretty birds for sure, but with those egg colors you are probably incubating Easter Eggers. I have a bunch of EEs myself, and they are beautiful birds that lay a lot of pretty eggs, but if the eggs are green and pink, they aren't standard bred Ameraucanas

Have you gotten a ship date yet?

Can you get a time machine and go back pre 2007-8 and fix those idiots with their "complicated financial instruments" that screwed the economy for years (still is in some ways I guess).

BTW that probably explains why you are "hands on" and Mr. Flock is "hands off". You aren't wired for anything but DETAIL. I was a software developer for 34 years.

Yes, I am wired for details. LOL...Some people, including my dear hubby, calls it a touch of OCD. :) When I got into management, I had to retrain my brain to see the big picture - but that was a challenge most of us from a development background dealt with, as you probably know.

The good part of that is, when I dig into a project, bombs could be going off and I can stay focused. The TV can be blaring, dogs barking, husband talking and I don't hear a thing. Well, that can be good and bad, depending on perspective, I guess.

I have 47. Only about 10 are active daily and some have been inactive for some time.

Yes indeed, it is called the Peter Principle. Take the best technical people and "reward" them by putting them into team lead then management. More often than not they made less than great managers.

Well, now that could be a topic for a whole long discussion. I know some that came out of development and made great managers. I know some with MB's that made awful management material.

As for the money - well, I retired at age 50 - couldn't have been all bad. ;)
