Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Well, she laid her first egg today and it would have to be VERY BLUE.

I'm not suppose to use her for breeding because of her color, but I suppose I'll enjoy the beautiful eggs. She came from one of Jean's stock. I may still use her for breeding... I need to take a pic of her egg and post it. Amazing.

I think she is one of my MOST beautiful birds, but Jean says she has a little too much of that ginger color.
She was also my FIRST ameraucana from my New Years hatch to lay an egg.

While we're waiting to see Mahonri's pullets' egg...

Can anyone tell the gender of these 3? 2 are big and very yellow and one is not so big, not so yellow and has less black in the wing feathers...they are bw's. Please ignore the little d'uccle stuck in there.

What do you think The BWA is really faded as she has been laying for over a year now.

Still a bit early for me to tell. Give them another week and a half and you'll know.

Well see how she is laying in December and I'll put my BWA over her and see what I get for pullets. That really is a blue egg... has the slightest tint of green, but it really does look good.
