Yes, they are very LOUD. I had 18 chicks in my last batch, and they stayed in the living room until they started flying up onto the edge of their brooder box.

My Wheatens' colors are showing nicely. 1 pullet or splash cockerel? 2 pullet 3 pullet 4 pullet 5 splash cockerel 6 blue wheaten cockerel? 7 Wheaten cockerel 8 Wheaten Cockerel 9 Wheaten Cockerel 10 Blue Wheaten pullet?
I can't believe how fast they are growing.

I agree with your observations. My phone won't let me zoom in on the photos, but #1 appears to be a pullet, #10 appears to be a pullet, and I can't tell for sure on #6. The pictures are so small on my phone. On a side note, I always love how obvious wheaten boys are! Lol!

I agree with your observations. My phone won't let me zoom in on the photos, but #1 looks like a pullet, #5 looks like a splash cockerel, and #10 looks like a blue wheaten pullet.
They are growing so fast. I plan on sharing some more pictures tomorrow or the next day. These chicks are so sweet! It looks like I got 50/50 with them and my choc ams that I kept. I hope my 6 new blacks are include at least 3 little girls.

I took a few pictures of a young blue wheaten pullet, wheaten pullet, and splash wheaten pullet the other day. I thought I would share this photo in case it is helpful to anyone that's trying to identify whether they have wheaten, blue wheaten, or splash wheaten Ameraucana pullets/hens. If a pullet is poorly colored in the tail, you can also take a look at their wings to identify what you have.

My 2 Blue Ameraucana hens. ( With some Doms and a Jubillee Orpington scattered in there.) We miss our black AM roo and hope to get another this fall or winter for flock protection. We just keep having bad luck with them! The darker hen, Jolene lays a gorgeous blue egg and the lighter, chubbier one-Fancy- lays a pretty greenish egg. Could be bluer, but we don't mind, she's a lovely bird with a very funny personality. Hopefully we get to breed at least Jolene again in the future. They both lay an egg a day!
