Easter Eggers are different in that they're basically mutts with a possibility of laying green or blue eggs. They're the nickname we put on the mutts hatcheries and feedstores sell under false claim of the true breed, the Ameraucana, which should only lay blue eggs. (Although some lines may lay green eggs even though it is undesired)

I think it *might* mean they only have one beard gene- so your chances are 1 in 4 of having a beard, but it would probably be a small beard if they have one. If I'm remembering what I was told about my clean faced ones correctly. that is. Doesn't mean you can't use them to make EEs- leghorns would be great to cross with.

Sounds like this would be a good experiment. I will cross it with my leghorns and hope to get bearded EE's. Thanks for your responses!

Well here are some of the pics of the birds from yesterday that I bought. Last night though two of my BW girls got out?

there was a wind storm and blew the tarp open in the corner and they got loose. I'm hoping they come back but I doubt it but its happened before..... but here are the bad pics I took I'm going to go out and take some more later

This is them waiting to come home from the show yesterday.... I'm now looking to replace the missing two

great idea....my little d'uccle hen got out for two days and showed up huddled under the call duck hutch! I hope they show up other wise I'll be looking for a few replacements
