Do these buffs look good?

Just curious

Those are Gary Ramey's birds. They lay a pretty good blue egg, which is rare in Buffs, but the birds themselves are a tad questionable. Putting that aside, they're really good for outcrossing to. I have a cockerel from Gary Ramey bloodlines, hatched by Jean, and I'm not getting rid of him anytime soon.

So again - They're good for projects, but Buffs alone, they've got their own faults.

Funny striations on that egg. Looks like a painted wooden egg.

Looks to me simply like a low quality photo with very low resolution.

That's what happened I reduced it to much. We used to have dial up and I'm used to making the image as small as possible. This should be better. Is there a chart for the egg shades?

Well, even with a low quality image, it is a very nice egg.

Yes, there's a chart. Check the Ameraucana Breeders Club as well as even Feathersite for a sample image.

I think you should try to incubate it!

When I hatch in April, I will only be hatching the largest, bluest eggs. I've got all variations of blue some have hints of grey, others with hints of green, in my W/BW flock. I have a couple with light legs and I'll be selling them in April... I hope they aren't the ones laying the very blue eggs.
