I think because of his upright stance, you can't really tell where his neck ends and his back begins, which makes his back look long when it's not. His tail is a bit high though, which is really common and one of the areas where the breed as a whole needs work. Just try to select females for him with very good tail angles.
 
6 or 7 of my 9 are laying I think I'm still waiting on the paul smith pullets. Also 4 of 6 of my faverolles are laying. I am getting about 10 eggs a day.
