Well my breeding project has come to a hault because of the loss of my wheaten rooster (

predators!). Anyone on the east coast have a spare? I was hoping to get one local but if all else fails I know Jean has a spare

. Just need a good story to tell my DH how a rooster suddenly appeared in the pen. lol

Henry-here's one of Henry and Zuli's chicks. Hatching mostly Splash!

and Mom and Dad

and a pretty sort of dark Splash that came from Shaffer and lays the prettiest eggs
My black hens are on the Ameraucana sticky.

Oh, but the legs say it all. I sent pics (to someone who should recognize slate legs) asking if 'those particular legs were slate or not' (not attatched to the bird), and the reply was 'yes, those are slate legs'.
IF the legs had been attached to the bird, they might have said they aren't slate because it isn't possible.
BUT! Can't take it back. And why I say nanernanernaner...

and front.. she is a lighter blue, no lacing. I got two chicks from Shaffer for a friend and she had her flock wiped clean twice from preds before I got them delivered so I just hung onto them for fear of their safety. I assume they were color culls from the Lav project since he does not have blue.
I was just enjoying, not going to show or breed those two so I never asked origin.
It is very pretty, just not the standard ideal for blue. We love them to pieces.
