just out of curiosity what color would i get if i did black (Roo) and Solid white (Hen) ? Will i get Split half White and Half black?

I believe you should get a black split for white, unless it's a dominate white, then you would get first generation paints.

Paint? Really? I have EEs that are heterozygous for Dominant white. Dominant white is a color that has a lot of leakage. There will be an occasional black feather, but I wouldn't call them "Paints". There will be less leakage when you are homozygous for the dominant white gene.

I also am working on Buff laced Cochins which are basically Gold laced with the addition of the Dominant white gene. They also demonstrate occasional Black feathers reflecting this leakage.

Yes paint.From what I have been able to learn at the classroom at the coop paint is a form of dominate.To me it looks like plain old dominate white.Silkie feathers just help blurr things.

Here is my pure Blue Ameraucana rooster. His tail feathers were rudely plucked out by a pen mate but they are growing back.

Yes it is a costly hobby.I love genetics.I have never gotten bored with genetics.Endless combinations it seems.I can usually tell you first hand what you will get.I have probablly already tried it.If not I can often be talked into trying.

Is this normal my rooster shows some white in his feathers but its like his feathers barbs are showing white they thin out at the end of his feathers

No- that is pretty heavy silver leakage. Unless you are working on blue silver, would not use him. And his feet look a little yellow.
