Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Are they wheatens, or are they brown reds? Gosh those are tiny enclosures. Maybe they are just set up to get ready for a show? I can't imagine they live like that all year.
They are actually pretty good size pens if you count the rows of wire which are probably about two inches apart; making them about 3 foot long. On Johns site it also says they are "breeding" pens; so the birdies aren't in there too long.
 
I was told the answer was brown reds. I didn't know of that color. I guess i was just hoping i could still use my wheaten males this year. I think i need to accept the fact i wont be able to use them this year.

The one staring at me is Sarah I also have columbian rocks, I purchased my amaraucana's from a small registered breeder however I have one with a muff & beard and the other ones look different. More pics to follow

I hate to tell you but not a one appears to be an ameraucana. None are of the color that are accepted to be an ameraucana. There is no such thing as a registered breeder as there is no registration, there is however the Ameraucanas Breeders Club where you can go and get all kinds of information on the breed, colors. There are also EE threads here on BYC that you may want to look at, as it looks like that is what you have.
