Everyone gets mad at the hatcheries for that. I will say they are good layers. The 6 I still have are laying pretty good at 4 years old.
Thanks, I guess that's good to know... I suppose I'll have to get over it lol.

I knew what I was buying when I got them and knew not to listen to the feed store. It really sucks for the unsuspecting
It's not just the store... It's how they have them listed on their sitethough if you look carefully it says green eggs which should've given me a clue. Oh well they're still cute! I emailed them... Wonder if they'll get back to me lol.![]()
I've heard of people getting mad that their pure Ameraucanas from a breeder lay green eggs. They think they got swindled. But the truth is: the blue color so coveted is just that: coveted. It's not like *every* Ameraucana lays perfectly blue eggs. Just look at the ABC color chart, and you'll see what I mean, most of the colors on it are not even blue!

Wow, most look more green...
And they did email me back and say that they are Ameraucanas... Either they're lying or just don't know???
My problem with their chart is that it doesn't correspond to their own breed description, which only lists blue.
They should list that span of color for eggs if it is part of their own standard. No?
