What other ones did you get from Paul? Did you get any lavenders?

Scflock, How are your girls laying? Any new pictures of eggs? Are they big and blue? It has been a long winter waiting for my chicks! I Just can't wait any longer!

How do your lavenders and blacks lay? I have heard a people say the blacks lay bluer eggs, bigger eggs and more eggs.

They all lay the same, usually 6 eggs per week, sometimes 5...

Hi there. .. just a simple question. . The size of the eggs Ameraucana vrs Cream Legbars... does anyone know. ...thanks

Really, they're pretty much the same... Cream Legbars lay rounder, more dense eggs so they can visually *look* smaller, but comparably similar to Ams...

I have had Ameraucanas for over 5 years and they still remain my favorite breed. My wheaten/blue wheatens are beautiful, friendly and confident birds that lay well. I can't imagine not getting those beautiful blue eggs. They look so pretty in the cartons with my chocolate colored Marans eggs.

I agree, the Wheaten/Blue Wheatens are beautiful and sweet. I was in love with the two juvies I got from my first breeder but then lost one in 2 weeks. One juvie grew normal and the other just never gained weight and died. My breeder apologized that her B/BWs layed pale blue but the color I got from our surviving girl were very pretty blue IMO. It's just that she only layed 3 eggs her 2nd year so I was grossly disappointed about that. She also had the tendency to crack her eggs from her big feet in her hurry to get out of the nestbox. My breeder is considering abandoning her Ameraucana breeding project. Probably having problems with reliable production maybe?
