I bet they call him the Night Stalker. Oh no, he just snatched Blackie the big AM rooster in the next pen over

I am so excited! That is good that you will have your pens just as you need them! If I run into trouble with my cockerels as they get a little older I may have a bachelor pad for them myself! But I sure do want to keep a blue rooster too! I'm going to have to work on taming down the boys that's for sure! Especially since I'm the one who deals with them.

I do not make pets out of mine, but I feed them meal worms or scratch two to three times a day as I go check for eggs or I let one group out to free range...or bring them in and let another group out. Not enough that they won't eat their laying pellets, but enough that they are very comfortable around me and I can easily get them back to their house. I have only one rooster that wanted to boss me around, but he found out quickly that he had to get a better attitude. Mine will talk to me, and they are easy to catch but I really do not want them being pets. The blacks and blues are a little flightier but the splash, lavs and bws are great. Take pictures. I remember when I got mine, I just wanted to sit around and watch them. I still do and they are grown.

I'm a sucker for all animals & they just steal my heart! They're spoiled rotten! My coop & run are built like Fort Knox!

This one may be a rooster
this one definitely is. He probably won't lay. Looks like he has some marans in him

PROBABLY???

Could you do that and take video to show us! We would love to see you go out in the dark at 4 am and put a untrained roo in a cage! What color of nail polish would you wear?

I think the nail polish should be blood red. scflock's blood red, since it will match any number of body parts by the time the rooster is in the cage.

I was wondering. I'm learning my birds as I go, so can you explain why this one is an EE? I thought maybe she was a lav with leakage. To my novice eyes, the muff, comb, and shanks look ok. Is that coloration on her chest more than just leakage?

Lavenders don't have red leakage. With the lavender gene any red leakage would be changed to a straw or gold color because that is what the gene does.

I have seen this color many times on ee's over the years. She is not any recognized color and will not reproduce true 50% of the time.
