Eh, I'm actually ambivalent about Marans... we get pretty dark eggs, but I'm just not impressed with their personalities...
Guarantees no disappointment, lol...
In mine the boys combs go past a certain point on the head and pullets are half the length... also, my girls tend to be slightly bigger and more skittish early on while the boys are more friendly as juvies... once the pullets hit POL then they are very friendly and the cockerels become distant, lol...

You know Susan these chicks went from Augusta, to Atlanta, to Jacksonville and then to Tallahassee. That was one heck of an overnight.

Wow! I didn't know they went to Atlanta, but it makes sense. I think everything going out of augusta goes through Atlanta! Going to try something new this next week. I have chicks going to WI, but I'm going to mail them out of the Columbia PO, so they go through Charlotte instead of Augusta/Atlanta.

Yes, I sell chicks and eggs and will ship. Changed some of my shipping protocol from this last shipment.

I have closed reservations for now, until I'm sure all earlier commitments are met, but will probably re-open them in early April for a few more. I quit hatching the last weekend in May. The heat here affects the virility of the cocks and I won't sell eggs that I know aren't fertile or commit to chicks that I can't deliver. I just have a few breeding pens, not a large operation by any means,

Pat (Redbanks) got on the list for this spring's hatch last November, which is why she got her chicks early. ..and she lives in Florida, so the weather wasn't an issue. Next week will be my first shipment this season to more northern destinations.

Interesting...! We live in Kansas. I will keep that in mind.
