Fretting happens on the ends of the feathers across the whole body... the way that looks, I would see where he is roosting at night... had someone ask about a tail once before that looked awful and come to find out he was roosting with his butt against the wall of the coop...Ok I know this is the AM thread, but I have a question about one of my BCM cockerels tail feathers. They are very frayed looking, like they aren't barbed and holding their shape like they should. I have read about "tail shredding" being a problem when breeding self-blues, and I know a few of you are working with self-blue/lavs. Is that what this is?![]()
