Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

RavynFallen,  The chick on the middle picture with two chicks looks like the light lavender chicks I get that resemble whites to some.  The last chick looks like nothing I have seen so far in my flock.  It must be from crossing bloodlines somehow.

The old male looks nothing like what I have at this time but does look like something that I may have had many years ago.  Good luck with him.

Thank you for responding and the well wishes... I am really enjoying working with these...

The light chick is feathering out pure white, I forgot to post the updated pics, lol...

As for the dark chick, I appreciate your candor, and thank you for the background info... Jerry did say he came across something kinda similar and has asked to be kept updated... thanks again, it is much appreciated...

I need some help.

I have 5 wheaten or blue wheaten americauna roosters that am trying to tell who is blue and who isnt. They were hatched in march. Is there anything that i can look at on them at this point and tell which s blue and which is wheaten? I dont have pics.

Breast feathers of a wheaten will be black and the blue wheaten will have blue breast feathers...

Hello, I'm new to this three and have been reading through, but I have a question I was hoping someone could answer for me. I am wondering approx. what age can you tell the Lavendar Ameraucana cockerels from the pullets? I know with the wheaten you can usually tell by 6 weeks. But I'm thinking that it may be a longer wait for lavenders. What do you all know?

By about 8 weeks, cockerels should have fairly prominent comb development.

If that is the case looks like i got the unlikely event of all 5 cockerals being wheaten. Some of the pullets are blue, easy enough to tell on them.
