I guess it's not terrible, now I have a pair. Just need to see how they turn out. Blue X blue should give me blacks, blues and splash ? so I'd be happy with that. I want to be sure they're quality is worth breeding though so I'll check back as they mature. I need to check the legs on the darker one in better light to see if they're really black or not. Today they looked slate. Hard to tell in the stall lighting while they're on quarantine.

My Ameraucanas are 3 months old now and I am still waiting for my roosters to crow. What age do they start? Thanks, Mary



Any day, really. I had one start at seven weeks, two more at about 10 week, and three more yet to crow. They are all brothers hatched at the same time. It depends on the individual too. :)

Pretty much whenever they dang well feel like it, lol... I just experienced a 6 day old crowing... :barnie
