Sorry, but he is neither... he's a mixed color Easter Egger... green legs means he doesn't have white skin and the coloring isn't correct for Wheaten pattern...

This is not an ameraucana. It's an Easter egger. A true ameraucana will have slate legs, and this bird's legs are willow. Also, unless I'm mistaken, that is definitely not either blue wheaten or splash wheaten, and whatever color it is, is not an acceptable ameraucana color. Sorry. It's a gorgeous bird, tho!!
Question: Would this bird be a considered a blue wheaton or splash wheaton Ameraucana? He is starting to show some dark blue and black feathering at the base and under his tail as well as a few on the head/neck. Love the coloring, just don't know how to classify! This is not an ameraucana. It's an Easter egger. A true ameraucana will have slate legs, and this bird's legs are willow. He is so pretty if he is a "he" -- almost could pass as a Russian Orloff except for leg color and size. He is so pretty for an EE!

No offense and TY for the response - That's why I said "almost" in italics and stated with exception to leg color and size and I ended by saying he is so pretty for an EE - please read these posts carefully. There is color and beard resemblance and to most untrained eyes they wouldn't see much difference. Only RO owners/breeders might take offense. But the coloring is so similar to a lot of different-looking ROs not to mention the newest Splash/White ROs that have sported recently from breeder lines looking so different from the more recognizable Spangled ROs. TY for your thoughtsNo offense, but are you familiar with the Russian Orloff breed? No way that looks anything like an Orloff.
