Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Can't believe my chicks will be 6 months old this weekend! Time flies!
I snapped a few pictures while they were out stretching their legs, thought I'd share. :)
I've got some red combs, and squatting going on... Now the long, long, long wait for my first egg from these girls... Oh the anticipation!

Beautiful flock!

Meyer and MyPetChicken.com have Blue/Black/Spalsh Ameraucana, avialable as sexed pullets. Cackle has unsexed Blacks. Sandhill Preservation hatchery has unsexed Blacks and Blue/Black/Splash Ameraucana, but they also have Easter Eggers that they sell with the label Ameraucana.
All others sell Easter Eggers.

So what is this then?

Hello, everyone! I have a mixed flock and am not in the breeding for show game that some of you are in, but this is our one and only guy and he was posing for me this morning, so I had to post. I really love this breed! He's the first one to greet me when I come out for some chicken love.

We enjoyed showing birds at the Dixie Classic today! We took home Reserve breed with a Blue Wheaten hen, and BV with a white hen, self blue hen, and wheaten hen. Not the best photos but these will do! It was a lot of fun!!!

Hey everyone! I think I posted pics of my wheaten cockerel a while back, but they weren't very good pics and I really want to know what you guys think of him. He was given to me by my breeder, and he won best of breed and best of variety at our county fair this summer. His name is Hugo and he's 8 months old now. I also just discovered that he seems to be a pro at fertilizing eggs already, lol. My SLW that just started laying has been laying fertile eggs since day one and he's the only fella brave enough to go near her, lol. Anyway, I just wanted to know what you all think of him. Will he be good for my wheaten breeding program? He's the only wheaten I have at the moment, so I have to use him, I just want to know if you think I'm starting off strong with this guy or not. Let me know what you think!
