Our ten month old pullet. Other than her beard being a bit dirty, please provide honest criticism of her looks based on SOP.

Quote: It's not. I have, over my half century on this planet, observed a definite overall change in the general climate. Even in the fifteen years here in South Carolina I have seen a noticeable warming trend in every season, especially winter and summer. This is not network news sensationalism, but actual real-life experience.

Not the best pics, but I was happy to finish out the 2016 Fall show season with two birds on Champion Row. Especially since I only took 3 birds to show!

CH AOSB, BB, BV Black Cockerel

Reserve CH AOSB, Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Variety Black Pullet

Now I can start to plan my 2017 breeding program. :)

Overall, I like her, not a bad looking pullet... tail spread looks slightly wide, but not overly... good muffs/beard... long back... the only thing really bothering me with her is her head and neck proportions seem just a bit off... looks a little narrow in the head and midway down her neck doesn't flow to her body at quite as wide as I like...

But not seeing any glaring faults... gorgeous feathering, beautiful color and sheen... @samouw would you take a look, please?

Edited: nevermind, tail is fine... my eyes are not, lol...

Hey everyone! I think I posted pics of my wheaten cockerel a while back, but they weren't very good pics and I really want to know what you guys think of him. He was given to me by my breeder, and he won best of breed and best of variety at our county fair this summer. His name is Hugo and he's 8 months old now. I also just discovered that he seems to be a pro at fertilizing eggs already, lol. My SLW that just started laying has been laying fertile eggs since day one and he's the only fella brave enough to go near her, lol. Anyway, I just wanted to know what you all think of him. Will he be good for my wheaten breeding program? He's the only wheaten I have at the moment, so I have to use him, I just want to know if you think I'm starting off strong with this guy or not. Let me know what you think!

Didn't see anyone comment on your boy? I'm no good at wheaten, but bumping your pics... hope someone that knows the variety well will comment...

Congratulations! I love seeing breeders perfecting rare breeds! You have done outstanding dedicated work!

The biggest issue I would have with her is the length of her back. She is quite long and that makes everything else look out of proportion.

Is that what was making her look off from her head to neck? It was bugging me, even went out and looked at a couple of mine... see similar necks in a couple younger girls, and I swear the same width head, but hers just kept looking narrower to me...
