Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Ugh, super nervous.... Wednesday is the inspection date to get my LT quarantine lifted. My 10 remaining adults are looking great so far, no sneezing or anything, I've even got another new layer a lovely little light blue. It's from a chocolate or a W/BW girl. The Chocs are a little older but I wouldn't expect blue from them, if so it's really lucky. ^_^ My one laying chocolate is laying white.

Oh I'm keeping my fingers crossed here.

Hope all goes well, Saris.

Didn't see anyone comment on your boy? I'm no good at wheaten, but bumping your pics... hope someone that knows the variety well will comment...

Yes, I hope someone can give me a critique on him. He won best of breed and variety at our local show, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. I just want to know what everyone thinks. You could take a whack at it, just for type, Raven

. I'd love to know what you think of him. And maybe someone who knows a thing or two about wheatens will swing by...I'll repost the pics in a sec....

Hey everyone! I think I posted pics of my wheaten cockerel a while back, but they weren't very good pics and I really want to know what you guys think of him. He was given to me by my breeder, and he won best of breed and best of variety at our county fair this summer. His name is Hugo and he's 8 months old now. I also just discovered that he seems to be a pro at fertilizing eggs already, lol. My SLW that just started laying has been laying fertile eggs since day one and he's the only fella brave enough to go near her, lol. Anyway, I just wanted to know what you all think of him. Will he be good for my wheaten breeding program? He's the only wheaten I have at the moment, so I have to use him, I just want to know if you think I'm starting off strong with this guy or not. Let me know what you think!

Here they are!

Back is long... good pea comb, nice and thick through the hackle... tail looks ok... something in the chest looks off, but not sure if it's how he is positioned or the pic or...

Can you get a couple more closer up profile shots and a head on shot?

Sure, I'll get them first thing tomorrow. Just FYI: he is wearing a no-crow collar(poor guy) because the neighbors HATE his crow and it carries a great deal, so that could be why his chest looks weird, maybe?? His hackles really are nice and fluffy like that, though.
