Ohhh, Jean and Mahonri, you guys are killing me with those Blue Wheaten pictures!!! Stop it, lol!

I wanted Blue Wheatens when I first started getting Ameraucanas, but decided to go with Lavender & Black, and to get BW in Marans instead. You'd think it would curb my appetite for BW Ameraucanas, but it didn't! Someday, sigh........

....but I still love my Blacks and Lavenders!

Oh, and eggs? What are eggs?

Very pretty hen, did you get her from Jean? Is she a Black or a Black/Lavender split?

This is an older picture of a Black/Lavender pullet I got from Jean's eggs. I have 2 more just like this one, can't tell them apart. They've really grown since this photo was taken and have turned out beautifully. As Jean mentioned, the size of the Lavender project birds still needs a little work, but I'm very happy with them and can hardly wait to see the next generation. The beards are unreal, and they have perfect tail angles. I need to take some new pictures.

I weighed and banded all my pullets on Saturday. I am going to give them a couple more months to grow then I will pick out the biggest most correct to standard girls to keep for breeding.

I have already set back a lavender split male that is pretty big for his age, but I have lots of black cockerels running around the yard.

Verycherry-while I hope to someday own Jean's birds I never quite got the timing right on her eggs(and didnt have the best hatches from others).
I did collect a little flock of a few ABC breeders by and by, this hen is a Black from Paul and Angela Smith.
