Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

If you're up for hatching- Tailfeathers is taking pre-orders for eggs- wheaten & BW. I found a lady in TN that will have BW eggs too. I'm getting some unless I end up really lucky with one roo and the rest girls

Halo has great eggs too- I had great luck with them

I have a wheaten pullet I bought from AHappyChick that I believe has started laying. I've seen her in the nests, just have to catch her dropping one now!

true but sometimes there are no quality breeders in your local area so you would have to ship the birds/chicks....and the gets PRIIICCCY! The roo I posted above cost a pretty penny to get shipped from the west coast to the east coast. He's worth it

What a cool thread! Thanks Henry for starting it!!!! I have really enjoyed looking at pics of everyones beautiful birds.

Lets see if everyone can follow the history of mine. LOL!!! In April of 08' I hatched some chicks by incubator from Lori (Skeeter9) from her beautiful blue pair (Jack & Belle.) Lori purchased these blue beauty parents from Lynn(HenHaven), who got them as chicks from Cree Farms. I ended up hatching Miles the black roo, 2 black hens (Cricket & Anna Belle), 1 Blue(Bella) and 1 splash (Stella).

This spring 3 out of 4 Ameraucana girls went broody. I kept pulling them out of the nest box trying to break their broody cycle b/c they were sitting on infertile eggs hogging the nest boxes and not laying. I had my roos separated at the time. I was able to break 2 them, but Stella was very stubborn refusing to budge, so I purchased some blue Ameraucana hatching eggs from Don(nivup) for her to hatch. I kept 2 blues (cockerel & pullet) from this hatch named Emma Louise and Edwin.

I'll post some pics soon. Thanks everyone for sharing.
