No clue, the wheatens and blue wheatens started laying and now they have stopped, just getting a couple a day. The only pens that are maintaining a good number is the silver project birds.....

How's the project going, by the way?

Hi, New to this thread. I have BBS Ameraucanas. The eggs were purchased from reputiable breeders from this site. They were all hatched from pretty sky blue eggs. My question; is it possible for a pure ameraucana to lay a pink egg? Is this an aboration or do I have a poser?

Yes- I have a lovely blue wheaten that lays pink eggs. Sometimes they're almost white. I only use her eggs for projects- one member hatched a hen from her and she does lay blue, but it's a crap shoot...

I am wondering - what is the oldest chicken you've had that still hasn't laid an egg? My poor little lone wheaten girl was hatched here April 24th and still isn't laying. As of today, she is NINE months old!! She sits on the nests some days (just to tease me, I think), but never lays anything (unless she's laying a pink egg like huntinwidow said above). That surely has to be impossible!!! She came out of a super blue egg and is pure.

Nine months, actually. Not mine, but I've heard of people on here with 9 month old pullets who just started laying.

My latest was 7 months.
