Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

There ya go. . . . Daddy was hiding probably a duckwing gene. The pretty girl there looks like a splash duckwing. That, or half duckwing, half extended black. (and of course, splash)

After hatching w/BWs all summer I think I may have a few girls. Would appreciate your opinions on my 6 chicks

I have an idea but would like your unbiased opinion. Some one will come tomorrow and rehome he roos if their sex has been determined so help is greatly appreciated!! Sorry about the crummy pics. Taken just now inside on cell phone.
Thanks

As long as shank color is good, I don't care what's hidden as long as it stays hidden.

TBH, I was hoping to breed whites with both pure splash blue and silver carried under the white, but will probably never get there.

Thank so much!! That is what I thought (#1 boy too), though it is much harder to tell from these pictures than in person.

Do you think it is "safe" to let # 1 and 2 go at this stage as we are not keeping boys or is there any point waiting a bit longer?

Lordy! I still have SO much to learn. I don't know what a "duckwing" is or "half extended black". Splash, I know! I have one of those.

Yes, she IS pretty and the best muffs and beard on my property, quite frankly. She makes a fine addition to my EE flock although she still hangs out with the Ameraucanas. She and my splash are inseperable.

They vary a lot though, but the key thing is that they have leakage on the neck and/or shoulders. Sometimes the rump. Also, the leakage can be purely silver, purely gold/red, or both silver and red.
