I can understand where you're coming from as I've had similar experiences when trying to educate eBayers about the "Americana" or even "Ameraucanas" eggs they were selling. Some have been appreciative but most, unfortunately, have been much like your experience. One would think if someone has been a breeder for 25 years they would at least know what they heck they are trying to breed. Unfortunately, the fact is some folks pride will simply not allow them to say, "Thanks. I didn't know that."
Btw, just FYI, I took a look at your website and thought I'd pass on a couple of things that you probably would like to know. First, contrary to what you say under the "Hatchery Araucanas", it's not all that hard to distinguish between a "hatchery Easter Egger and the APA Ameraucana". One only needs to know what an Ameraucana is and the Club website makes that pretty easy.
Second, not all Easter Eggers have green legs. Some will have slate or blue/black legs. I can't tell for sure but the pictures you show on your website appear to have slate or blue/black legs. I also have several EE's running around my place that don't have green legs. These are the result of making my own EE's.
Along those same lines, whether the EE has yellow skin or not, I guess would all depend on what the Ameraucana (or Araucana) was crossed with.
Other than those few minor things, you've done a really good job at educating the public.
God Bless,
