Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Oh yes. I see what you mean. Thanks. She is a real flighty bird too. But her eggs are good, decent size and she lays more than every other day. Guess I won't buy more from that breeder though.

Was she sold as a lavender split, or pure black? If the eggs were sold to you as lavender split, you are simply seeing some issues associated with the lavenders. If they were pure black, then yeah, I'd probably take a pass next time too... ;)

If you are weird then you are in good company! How exciting for you! Totally there with ya. Isn't it great that we all can find fellow chicken nerds? I have to control how much chicken enthusiasm I let out around "regular" people. lol
Congratulations!!

SQUEE!

My first home bred BW/W Ameraucana chick!
-sigh- Yes, I may be weird, but it's a sense of accomplishment for me.
I'm sure you guys went through it too.

Was it on this thread that I just mentioned wanting an incubator that would hold about 100 eggs for $300.00?
LOOK!! http://www.customincubators.com/incubators_for_sale
These are exactly what I imagined in my head. The one I am looking at holds 126 eggs and has a hatching drawer and cost 275.00. Who says wishes can't come true? lol

oh my i am saving this site! I just spent $230 on a hovabator 1588 advanced with egg turner, i am in total regret! I've going to have to save up and buy one from this site as well!
How good do their reviews look?
