Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

My husband and I both own our own businesses. We have had to at different times definitely lose money to keep customers happy. But I do know that one happy customer will tell 10 people about it, an unhappy customer will tell 100 people. And sometimes even after an issue has been made right there is no pleasing someone determined to be unhappy. BUT... I sure do hope those people either get their money or their incubators. That should be made right.

I suppose I could make my own. ugh... My husband is a plumbing contractor and while he is handy at a lot of things his finish carpentry skills leave a little to be desires. Shhhhh don't tell him I said that. lol. For the time and effort and money 275.00 seems like a great deal for one of those incubators...hassle free for me. Just the right size I need. Shipping is free but that is parcel post therefore very slow and very cheap.
I will wait and see how this plays out before I consider ordering.

I was following that about the bators...seemed the problem was the guy took orders he did not fill then sold the company...the new guy filled the orders after he took over and the orders the other guy took and gave him the payment for...seems he would not fill orders for those who paid before he bought but did not get thier bators and HE did not get thier money...he sent them to paypal to file claims against the other guy ( from what I could tell) I know 2 people who ordered and got thier bators from the new owner and were happy...just those few got worked over it seemed and the new owner could have been better and tried to fill those orders too just to save the company name...now he has that shadow to deal with which in my opinion will cost him more in lost orders than fixing the problem and helping those few...it was less than 10 people from what I could tell...I had almost ordered right when it started and thats why I was keeping up with it some...then decided I would work on my own...until I get time I have 3 styros that do just fine!!

FYI...I can't remember where I heard it now, but I know it was fairly recently...also don't know if it was with the old owner or the new one...I had heard that these "Custom Incubators" were catching on fire randomly...I'll stick with my Hovabators...

that alone scares me off from wanting any other incubator! i'm with you, the hovabator's working just fine lol

i got the 1588 advanced! Just started using it :)

Best of luck ChickenLeg!!! My Hovabators have been spot on!!!
The only time I had concern was when I had 42 eggs in there at lock down, as the chicks started hatching the window fogged up with humidity. (I couldn't see what was happening

) The more hatched chicks...the more moisture is released into the bator. I would quickly open the lid and wipe the inside of the lid/window with a terri cloth rag.
Now, I usually hatch only about 24-32 eggs at a time. At that rate I don't have the HIGH humidity issues.
I love my hovabotors with turners because they do such a wonderful job of taking care of my chicks-to-be!!!!!!!

Thank you! After my silkies hatch, I'll be putting in about a dozen or so wheaten/blue wheaten eggs! I'll let y'all know how they turn out!
Thanks for the advice I'll take ur advice and never put more than 30 in at a time!

You will fill it up... just wait

you will forget or think it will not happen to you or figure out a wiper blade to put in the bator so you don't have to open it to clean it... something but you will fill it up one day
