Oh, the woman at the store told us it was an Ameraucana and the sign on the brooder with the chicks said it as well. And no, we are not allowed a rooster where we are and we only wanted hens.

Watch the spelling Americans or ameraucana. That's where they get you and usually Easter eggers

Agree with @Timkat also, keep in mind that a feed store is never going to sell true ameraucana. Its cheaper to sell the knockoffs with that name.
