I did get her from the feed store. She does have muffs and im not 100% what a beard looks like and have not checked for that. Feed store did say ameraucana or Americana but as I was new I did not pay attention to exactly what they said.Welcome to BYC!!!
Americana or Easter Egger, yes. Ameraucana, probably not. If I recall correctly, they don't come in silver laced. Unless she's from someone's breeding project.
Also I don't see very obvious muffs and beard.
Ameraucana breed website has a lot more info.
Where did you get her?
Muffs and beard are caused by the same gene.I did get her from the feed store. She does have muffs and im not 100% what a beard looks like and have not checked for that.
If she came from a feed store, then she is most likely an Easter Egger, sometimes called an Americana.Feed store did say ameraucana or Americana but as I was new I did not pay attention to exactly what they said.
She is not Laced, no matter what color or breed or mix she may be. Silver Laced would have white feathers with black around the edges, so it looks like someone laid a piece of black lace on the silver chicken. (Wyandottes, Sebrights, and Polish can all come in Silver Laced color, if you want to google for examples.)Americana or Easter Egger, yes. Ameraucana, probably not. If I recall correctly, they don't come in silver laced. Unless she's from someone's breeding project.
