Ameraucanas and EE's, whats the difference?

i see a lot of people list thier birds as "true ameraucanas" and "easter eggers". i dont understand what the difference is. they all (usually) lay the green, blue or pink eggs right? i bought an ameraucana rooster, and have him with an easter egger hen. i was told when i hatch these out i would sell them as easter eggers, not ameraucanas. if i wanted ameraucanas is have to get "true ameraucana" hens. i dont get the difference?

easter eggers are a mixed breed somewhere down the line.... thats my understanding.

However, any true Ameracauna owner will MAKE SURE you know the difference.

Easter Eggers are a mix of chickens, A true Ameracuana comes in only some colors they are a specific breed of chicken and lay blue eggs. An Easter Egger can lay blue, green, brown or pink. You can only get Ameracuana's from breeders. The breed true where easter eggers don't hope this helps.

People put the label TRUE Ameraucana on there so that others looking know that they aren't falsely labelling their Easter Eggers, because Easter Eggers (mutts) are very commonly sold at hatcheries, feedstores, and even backyard breeders as the true, purebred Ameraucana.

Real Ameraucanas should only lay blue eggs, should only have slate gray or black legs, and should only come in the 8 recognized colors or 2 other non-recognized ones (splash and lavender)

Easter Eggers are the ones who lay green, blue, and sometimes brown eggs, can come in any color, any leg color, and so on. They're often falsely sold as Ameraucanas but are not. They're "mutts" as some may say, - But to truly put it, they're a group of chickens often closely related as a purebred would be, but not bred to any goal but colored eggs.

Ok Now I'm really confused, I thought the Ameraucana and Easter egger were the same and that the Araucana was the true breed.
So if the easter egger is a mutt, and the Ameraucana is true, where does that Araucana stand?
