I have an order of "Ameraucana" chicks placed with McMurray, and am just wondering what variety of colors to expect? I know they are actually Easter Eggers, and don't really care either way, but I'm just curious what color varieties others have received. I'm expecting mostly a medium brown coloring, but would love to get a mix! If you've ordered these birds from McMurray, what did you get? Thanks!

I've never ordered any of those from McMurray, but I've often wondered what colors are common in their mix.

I'd love to see pictures of yours!

I received five from them about eight or so years ago. It might take me a while to find photos, but as I recall, their bodies were all sort of a mixed orangish/brown, varying from light blonde to dark dark brown in the neck/head feathers. All five laid beautiful green/blue eggs!

Thanks! I got 6 cuties and a little extra Sicilian Buttercup chick. As tiny babies, they were a pretty wide range of colors, from downy cream to black (but all with some sort of mixed pattern). They are kind of in that weird stage at the moment where they're getting feathers, and the color variations are definitely less for their feathering colors now, but it's still a little early to guess how they'll end up as adults, I think. Some of their shoulder and neck feathers are coming in a slightly different color from their wings, so I'm excited to see what develops. The one who was the most chipmunk pattered seems to look like she'll have almost a polka dot pattern on her feathers (hard to tell in the pic), which seems the most unique from the others' feather patterns. She is in the first photo. I also included out little Buttercup's photo at the end just because! I'm just happy I can tell them all apart, haha!
(In order: Iris, Ivy, Hazel, Aster, Magnolia, Bluebell, and Marigold)

Any update photos of your birds? I’d love to see them.
Sure! Here they are today, in the same order as before! They are 23 weeks old now, and so far, Hazel's the only one to have started laying.

And here's "Marigold," who turned out to be Sicilian Buttercup roo... so we renamed him Dandy (short for Dandelion)! Haha!
