Ameraucanas? Is the 2nd bird, Red a hen or roo?

I just came back from the flea market with chickens. LOL I was looking for Ameraucanas and found 2 tailess, ear tufted birds instead!

Bird one is the one I really believe could be an Auraucana for sure...

Bird two is one I'm wondering if its an Auraucana? Also is it a hen or a roo?

I was told a hen but I really wouldn't mind either way.

And this one I'm not sure what it is?

Those are some sort of mixes.

These are cross breeds. They do not conform to the Araucana standard or the Ameraucana standard. The Single comb on the red bird is a dead give away also leg color is wrong among other things. I would say that these are Easter Eggers. They are pretty.

Edited to add: There are Ameraucana breeders working on a new color called black gold and the hen pictured last could be a cull from a black gold project but unless the seller can better inform you who knows for sure.

Are you sure their tails just haven't been plucked? They are definitely not Araucanas. Looks like an Easter Egger and a RIR mix or New Hamshire cross.

I don't really care if they're Easter Eggers! I hope they do lay green or blue eggs though! They're big birds too.
