Hey everyone,
ive always had a few easter eggers but after learning the difference, i decided to purchase some ameraucaunas.
i went to a local farm auction and purchased two beautiful blue wheaton hens.they are a light buff/tan color with slate blue legs, full beards and muffs. They look like healthy hens (although, they do retain a lot of poop on the feathers around their vents). I'm not sure of their age. They love corn but act like they don't know what layer pellets are. I put my EE rooster in with them, he's showing them what it is. Along with cat food and bread.
Today makes 2 weeks I've had these hens and haven't laid an egg yet. I've had hens quit for a few days after being moved. But never this long.
Any thoughts?
