My 4 mature 18-month old hens are not laying consistently. Could it be the feed or heat?

I'm having a different type of egg-overage. With kids moving out, taking all the extra buddies at meal and snack times with them, my once barely-able-to-keep-up hens are now over-producers. I have WAY too many eggs! I can't sell them; I'm not licensed or willing to take on the liability. I don't want to rehome older hens. They're welcome to retire here, so I pass a lot along. Not everyone is willing to use bantam eggs (too much trouble to calculate differences? Really?) so I've started scrambling and freezing them in ice cube trays (one large cube equals one med egg) and storing them in freezer bags.
I eat a lot of egg salad ... sigh ...
At the height of production I was feeding quite a lot of egg to my dogs, especially the ones that were more likely to have inclusions (thankfully all my eggs look distinct enough to be able differentiate). And making pound cake and stratas that ate up a dozen at a time. Got another strata planned this week since another layer started up again... in September, really?

Dang kids! You're bankrupt when they're home, and then drowning in supplies when they leave!
