I know this gets asked alot, but this is my daughters chicken. She got her from her grandma, who got her from a friend and have no idea where she came from. She has slate colored legs, lays blueish eggs, every three to four days.
She is an Easter Egger. Not an Araucana because she should be rumpless, but this also depends on where you live ( the US only excepts the rumpless type, some countries allow full tails or both). She also has no ear tufts (she has muffs which some EEs have and all Ameraucanas have), her coloring is off, plus Araucanas are relatively harder to obtain.
I was told she was ameraucauna, Is her coloring still off for that breed ? she is pretty much brown with gray tints. I know she isnt aracauna. My grandma has some of those, and their ears tufts are obvious. Thank you for your opinions too, Ive been searching the internet high and low and she sure does look like ameraucauna. I just havent been able to place her color, so that got me wondering about her being not a pure bred.
Easter eggers are already mixed birds. EEs, unlike araucanas and ameraucanas, don't have specific breed standards. EEs come in various shapes, sizes, and colors. Any bird that carries a copy of the blue egg gene is an EE. Even purebred ameraucanas may be considered easter eggers if they don't meet the strict standards.
