I agree with @ShrekDawg that he's an Easter Egger and most likely a cockerel. Ameraucanas have very specific SOPs with designated coloring.

I got all of my chicks from a local farm that focuses on an all organic approach that I truly appreciate. I’m less interested in what breed this chick is than what sex it is. Everyone seems to think this bird, its name is KitKat, is gonna crow and not lay eggs.Where did you get him from? He’s most likely an Easter Egger, especially if the ones you bought with him are. It may be possible that he’s a blue wheaten Am though. Those barred looking feathers are his baby feathers, he’ll molt those out. I’d hang onto him for a bit longer to see for sure.
Yeah, he’s 100% a boy, I bet he’s going to be so handsomeI got all of my chicks from a local farm that focuses on an all organic approach that I truly appreciate. Rude! Why is everyone here so mean?!Yeah, he’s 100% a boy, I bet he’s going to be so handsome![]()
Incidentally, SOP means Standard of Perfection. And the breed you are asking about, if it's truly a bird of that breed, would be spelled Ameraucana. This is important because there are unscrupulous sellers out there selling Easter Eggers under such names as Americana, Ameracana, Ameracauna, etc., all to fool people into thinking they're getting something they're not. EE do not breed "true," as they are mixed breeds, or "mutts," and you can typically get them for around $3 to $5 a chick. True Ameraucanas typically cost $15/chick and up, and they DO breed true. EE lay blueish, green, brown, tan, cream, pink or olive eggs (each bird lays its own color) while "Ams" lay blue. EE are great birds and I'm quite partial to them, but I firmly believe they should be marketed honestly, only under a name that does not deceive.
